Securing Tropical Forests
for the Future
Norway’s International Climate and Forest Initiative (NICFI) is Norway’s most important international endeavour to fight climate change and protect nature.
A new call for proposals from civil society-organizations that contribute to meeting the objectives set out in NICFI’s strategic framework will be issued by March 2025. The call will be managed by Norad on behalf of NICFI and will be posted at www.Norad.no and www.NICFI.no.

Tropical forests are large sources of climate gas emissions, due to deforestation. They could instead be a big part of the climate solution.
